Voices Behind Write Beyond

Chit Sandi Kyaw

Health & Development Practitioner

I am Chit Sandi Kyaw, a health and development practitioner from Myanmar, now based in Australia. My work moves across public health, gender, and development.

I started Write Beyond to connect the dots between my professional background and personal journey. I have worked as a medical doctor, project manager, and researcher in areas ranging from reproductive health and gender equality to migration, multicultural engagement, and community health promotion. Each of these experiences shapes how I see the world and the questions I ask through writing.

This blog is also a space for reflection where I revisit my experiences through the lens of my Master of Development Studies and link them to the complex realities of Myanmar. It helps me write my way through complexity, uncertainty, and change. I will shape Write Beyond as a safe space for myself and other Myanmar scholars who want to write freely, without fear or pressure.

When I am not writing, I mentor students, contribute to community health and development initiatives, and explore how storytelling can bridge disciplines and experiences.
